Davie & Chiyo. The girls behind the clutches!

Meet Fumi Bull and Alisa Stephenson.

Fumi and her sister Himi first started Davie & Chiyo in 2008.  They started a small giftshop on Etsy selling handmade pouches and purses.  Their business has evolved into specializing custom, one-of-a-kind clutches for bridal parties.

Fumi is the superhero multi-tasker.  She's the designer, the photographer, the web manager, and the customer service specialist!  Aside from all that, she loves cooking, yoga, fabric shopping, Pinterest, and having deep intellectual conversations with her cat...

 Alisa is the Events Coordinator, Sales, Marketing, & Customer Service Guru.  She cannot survive without her calendar, nor her little boy!  She's a Mac lover and has an addiction to plaid!

How did these two half japanese girls meet?  Hapa Izakaya!

Anyways, here's a little set of Davie & Chiyo.  The girls behind the clutches!

Eating my way through Montreal

This was our first time in Montreal and were we ever surprised!  We thought Montreal was just another boring Canadian city, but it has so much culture and history to it that it made it seem as if we were in Europe.  Maybe even a bit better because everyone spoke English, streets were cleaner, it was generally safer, and best of all I could use my data/cell/texts without any roaming charges!

One thing that you should know, we didn’t choose to come here.  We were actually flown in by Mayssoun and Malek for their wedding!  Alisa and I decided to extend our trip here as we just celebrated our 8 year anniversary!  So we spent 6 nights at Le Westin in Montreal.  It was the perfect location as it was right across the street from the Metro, 1 block away from Old Montreal, and about 3 blocks away from St. Catherine’s street!

For my personal stuff, I took my Olympus OMD with Panny 12-35mm f2.8 for all of the daytime shots, and then the Sony RX100 for most of the nighttime shots.  All the shots in the video though were from the Canon 5Diii and 1DX.

Before anything else, here is Mayssoun and Malek’s Same-Day Edit!

Okay so now on to everything else.  Alisa and I went to a lot of places and ate a ton of different things.  There's too much to write about and pictures are worth a thousand words... so enjoy!

Cactus Pride!

This is by far one of my favourite events of the year!  Sure I get hot, sweaty, and a little sunburnt, but who can complain when your shooting hot people in such a high energy environment?  I even joined in a little on the dancing =)  But too bad I don't have no six pack!

Shot with;
- Canon 1DX with 24-105L

It was my first time shooting an event almost all with the Olympus OMD.  I did take my Canon 5Diii out too for a few photos (only because my OMD ran out of battery) .  Thanks to Joel Bastian for coming out to assist me!
